Introduction to specialty coffee
If you are just starting your coffee journey, or if you’re already on your way and want to know more, this session is for you!
Together, we’ll learn about the history of coffee, from 9th century Ethiopian shepherds to today's specialty coffee. You’ll discover how specialty roasting works, from the green beans selection to your cup. You’ll look at coffee, you’ll smell it, you’ll taste it to understand the subtleties of origins, processes and brewing methods.
We’ll discuss the fundamentals of brewing methods, from espresso to slow coffee and you’ll learn how to extract the best of coffee beans. In a nutshell, you’ll learn what to do and what not to do, and we’ll share the many mistakes we made during all these years, so you won’t reproduce them!
The sessions includes:
- history and context of coffee and specialty coffee
- roastery tour with an explanation of selection and roasting process
- brewing methods demonstration and tasting

Practical information
Come to the coffeeshop and tell the barista you're there for the event: they will direct you to the roastery, where the session will take place.
If you have booked a place and can't make it, please email us as soon as possible at [email protected]. Please note that no refunds will be given less than 48h before the event, but you'll be able to attend on a different date.
We reserve the right to cancel the session if fewer than 3 people have registered. In that case, we will refund your ticket.
